Playing: Spring
is the season we look forward to most - and as soon
as it arrives, we can't wait for summer! It's our annual
salute to spring - and I always have a lot of fun putting
this show together.
If
there's a spring-like 'Chill' in the air this week,
you can bet its Brazilian - with Chico Science, Germanys'
trumpet star Till Bronner and Latin Vibe's 'From Paris
to Rio.' Gilberto Gil brings us a top song from 1983,
there's an early hit from Eliane Elias and Oscar Castro-Neves
- with a soundtrack Samba from the movie 'Blame It On
Rio'.
I'll
sprinkle in a pair of spring-fling Bossas from Marcos
Valle and Baisa, while the softer side of the season
comes to us from Ed Johnson & Novo Tempo, Torcuato
Mariano's guitar, and singer Stacey Kent.
This
week's version of 'Waters of March' comes from Al Jarreau
and Oleta Adams, and Dori Caymmi's 'Spring' provides
a closing bookend to our season-changing show this week.
We've
waited for this show for three long months (some of
us even longer!), so don't miss this show!
Don't
forget - you're invited to read the life story of Brazil's
greatest singer, Elis
Regina. and next week we'll wrap up the month by
lighting another candle for our favorite 'Girl Form
Ipanema'. | Listen
