Frequently
Asked Questions: Webcast Listening
Welcome
to Connectbrazil.com's webcast introduction page. We suggest that
you read through the following information in order to fully enjoy
all that our extensive webcast and streaming audio programs have
to offer.
Every
hour of every day, Brazilian music fans all over the world tune
in to The Sounds of Brazil! webcast channels and you can too! This
page will give you an overview of our webcast operation along with
helpful advice on how to solve a webcast problem.
Listening to Webcasts
Connectbrazil.com
offers several 'round the clock' (24/7) webcast channels provided
through our Official Internet Radio partner, Live365.com (website).
We also provide 'mpeg' (.mp3) audio samples for hundreds of CDs,
plus audio and video streaming for multimedia features and presentations.
How To Listen:
Our
free webcast channels are accessed from the top of virtually any
page on our site from the drop down menu bar. To begin, click on
the 'Radio & Webcasts' tab, and then click on 'The Sounds of
Brazil Homepage' tab.
On
The Sounds of Brazil homepage, look to the left column for the titles
'This Week's Show' and 'Last Week's Show'. This is where you'll
find current weekly program information, along with a descriptive
summery and useful links to make your listening more enjoyable -
including our Interactive Playlists (link),
Artist pages and a direct link to the webcast channel. This page
is updated every Friday afternoon to reflect the new weekend's programming.
When
you first access our webcast channels, Live365.com may conduct a
system test to determine the best connection speed. It will also
offer you a choice of media players, including its own free Player365,
which is a good choice to start with. Live365.com also offers enhanced
versions of its media player for a nominal fee - be sure to check
them out.
What To Do If Things Go Wrong:
Our
audio and video content is available worldwide and is configured
for 56k dial-up and broadband connections. While streaming technology
has advanced considerably in recent years, Internet security issues
can sometimes create 'road blocks' to hamper your ease of connectivity.
Today,
no one (especially Windows users) can safely surf the Internet without
anti-virus and Internet security programs that include firewalls
and frequent security updates. Often, these programs automatically
configure 'rules' to protect your computer from online threats.
Sometimes these 'rules' can interfere with Internet access by your
media player.
Additionally,
other variables such as a computer's age and its componentry, its
operating system and the type of connection used to access the Internet
make publishing a detailed Webcast 'help' section on our site a
Herculean task.
When
trouble with Internet connectivity for webcasts occurs, it is usually
due to a combination of factors as described above, and most often
is a user-related issue.
Help Is Just A Click Away:
Thankfully,
Live365.com has an excellent, extensive help section and knowledge
database to assist you with your questions and concerns. They understand
connectivity issues very well and are especially dedicated to helping
you resolve your dilemma.
To
