An Open Letter to Independent Brazilian Musicians, and Music Labels:

Hello,

I'm Scott Adams, publisher of Connectbrazil.com and host of the commercially syndicated radio show 'The Sounds of Brazil!' and I'd like to help you understand our procedure for CD submissions. Please read through the information on this page if you are a performer, label or press person.

Although my web site and radio program might be new to you, I've been around Brazilian music for more than a decade and a half, helping people learn more about the music we love.

Our Mission:

Connectbrazil.com's mission - along with 'The Sounds of Brazil' and our three webcast channels - addresses a basic question: How can we make Brazilian music more important to more English-speaking fans?

We do this by finding ways to make Brazilian music - and the musicians who create it - more relevant to people's lives. In fact, that's our complete focus, and it works: We entertain millions of radio and webcast listeners every month, and welcome an average of 2,300 unique visitors and 19,000 page views daily.

Our Business:

My business grew out of my love for Brazilian music and my passion for the country and its people. I'd like you to learn more about Connectbrazil.com and The Sounds of Brazil when you have a few minutes.

Explore our site. Enjoy our webcast and radio programming and read up on our exclusive stories and cultural features. Browse the archives for our weekly Interactive Playlists and Connectbrazil.com's Weekender e-letters.

And I'd like you to learn more about how we do business, too. Just click on 'Contact Us' and then 'Advertise' from the menu bar at the top of our home page to reach our Business Resource Center. That's where you'll find our presentation and support material.

Our Music Label:

In 2007, I started my own music label, Points South Music with my partner David Chackler to provide yet another resource for Brazilian music projects here in the US and Canada. Our relationship with our national distributor helps us achieve a solid retail profile with our releases, and I'm proud to say that our Points South label represents the legendary Roberto Menescal's 'Albatroz Music' catalog exclusively here in North America, along with dozens of independent releases.

We are always interested in independent projects and/or Brazilian music labels seeking distribution in the US and Canada via the Points South brand. Please call or write to me at the addresses below.

A Final Note:

Thanks for taking the time to read through this introductory letter. Over the years. I've had the privilege to work with many great Brazilian musicians and their CDs - including several Grammy winners. Their record companies develop large promotional campaigns to support these projects.

I understand that independent artists have a much more difficult time when it comes to promoting their work, and that both budget and effectiveness are very important concerns.

So please accept my invitation to explore our web site and to ask for more information about our marketing and promotional services. I'm sure that you'll discover the possibilities, too!

Please feel free to call or e-mail me personally for more information.

Always a pleasure,

Scott Adams
