Hello! I’m George Klabin. I grew up as a teen in São Paulo, Brasil at the birth of Bossa Nova, which led to my lifelong love affair with this music.
As a recording studio owner and engineer, and founder of a Grammy-winning record label, I’m opening my personal journal to share my musical adventures with you.
These are my stories. This is the music!
This week, I’m turning to Brazil’s two popular song forms – Samba and Bossa Nova – for inspiration and a playlist filled with innovative and tantalizing songs. We’ll hear from favorite musicians including favorites like Rosa Passos, Stan Getz, and Quincy Jones, plus names that may be new to you, like Emma Smith, and Makoto Ozone. I hope you will enjoy discovering them with me.
