Brazil’s Latin Grammy Nominees for 2025

2025 Elevates Many Worthy Brazilian Musicians. Will the Latin Grammys Deliver?

Brazil’s Latin Grammy Nominees for 2025 can make the awards relevant again.

It’s true! The Latin Grammys are an important cultural marker for artists, songwriters, producers, and labels that create the music we love.

And it’s important for fans like us. We love to see our favorite musicians recognized and rewarded. Me, too, because advocating for Brazilian music is my happy mission.

But it’s good to remember that language guides the Latin Grammy rules. The Latin Grammys consider only recordings in Spanish and Portuguese.

The Spanish-speaking world is larger than that of Portuguese-speaking nations. Portugal and Spain were world-power rivals for centuries and you can read why Brazil doesn’t speak Spanish here. It’s a fascinating story.

The Latin Grammys provide a separate section for ‘Portuguese Language’ (beginning at Category 41), but it segregates Brazil’s musical impact beyond its own borders.

Brazilian entries for the 2025 Latin Grammys

However, this year, one Brazilian artist has captured the world’s attention with seven nominations across th1e pop categories. It continues a trend for the land of Samba and Sun.

In 2022, Brazil’s Anitta garnered 11 nominations. A year later, Annita broke her own record with 16 nominations.

But maybe just one artist is not a trend. Maybe that’s just how the Latin Grammys work. Off hand, I can think of dozens of worthy musicians who have Brazilian zip codes. Other countries, too.

Important musicians, songs, and albums were overlooked this year. Ella & The Bossa Beat, Brazilian Jazz pianist Antonio Adolfo, Nyron Higor’s jazzy self-titled album. Daniela Soledade’s Deco Tropical and Eliane Elias’s Time And Again are among them.

That said, I know that you will be impressed with Brazil’s top contenders for the 26h annual Latin Grammy Awards when winners are announced on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

And I’ll have our exclusive list of Brazilian winners ready and waiting, right here! And you can hear them daily on our live streaming station and streaming channels too. All free to listen, anytime.

Enjoy!
