A Grammy-Winning Label Owner Has Never Hosted A Brazilian Music Radio Show. Until Now.
Heart Of Brasil makes Brazilian Music radio history on July 10, when George Klabin debuts his new weekly show on Connect Brazil’s streaming station.
Spend a few minutes with George Klabin and you’re sure to be caught up in his storytelling.
It’s downright infectious.
You see, Klabin’s passion for Brazilian jazz and Bossa Nova comes from a well-lived life in music, a highly respected recording engineer, producer, and the owner of Resonance Records.
His stories are a font of first-hand knowledge and the insight that comes with decades of experience.
“The music I’ll play on Heart of Brasil is from my personal collection including many records no longer available”. Says Klabin in our extended interview. “I’ll also include recordings I have made which have not been released officially.
Heart of Brasil will focus on the authentic Brasilian Bossa Nova and Bossa/Jazz recordings. These come mainly from the 60’s and 70’s with some overlap into the 80s and 90’s.
And you’ll hear my stories about the songs and musicians I play. Just like we’re talking right now. Bossa Nova and Brazilian jazz fans will enjoy Heart of Brasil on Connect Brazil’s streaming station, beginning July 10.”
That’s what George Klabin brings to the microphone when his 90-minute weekly show Heart of Brasil makes its world debut on Connect Brazil’s streaming station.
July 10th Is A Special Day For Brazilian Music
July 10, 1958 is the date of Bossa Nova’s first song. That’s when João Gilberto recorded the definitive version of ‘Chega de Saudade’ at Odeon Studios in Rio de Janeiro.
George Klabin chose July 10, 2025, as the debut date for Heart of Brasil in order to honor the music.
Coincidentally, July 10th in 1958 and in 2025 falls on a Thursday.

In 1999 Connect Brazil was recruited by Mark Cuban’s Broadcast.com to produce the world’s first Brazilian music stream.
Three years later, Live365 invited us to join its broadcast lineup to begin a decades-long partnership. Connect Brazil’s Live streaming station followed on Thanksgiving Day, 2014.
Connect Brazil was selected by Brazil’s Ministry of Culture to create The Brazilian Minute. A 52-week streaming and broadcast cultural series to celebrate Brazil’s Bicentennial year.
With Heart of Brasil, George Klabin’s creativity promises to continue Connect Brazil’s tradition of excellence: Serving Brazilian music’s most passionate fans worldwide, while supporting the musicians who create the music we love.
